Description
This position reports to the VP of Facilities Development and manages design and construction activities to ensure internal goals and the needs of our customers are met. The selected individual will manage programming, design and construction activities of the $750 Million Hospital Replacement Program. Responsibilities include staffing, financial and schedule management, quality assurance, contract and change order negotiation and coordination with other Directors on the program team to produce a successful program on time within budget.

Requirements
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering plus ten years of professional medical planning, design and construction experience to include five years of professional Architecture or Engineering supervisory experience. Candidate must possess a current NCARB Certificate or an Architect or Engineering Registration in a U.S. State or Territory with Texas reciprocity. Advanced degree and significant budgeting, accounting and financial management of major capital programs is desirable. A Texas Class C driver's license is required, along with insurability and access to an automobile.

Responsibilities include developing project budgets and schedules, quality and safety goals, and procurement and conservation strategies. In addition, you will prepare invitations for bid and requests for proposal, negotiate project contracts and change orders, and approve vendor payments.

To qualify you must have a bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering along with 7 years' facilities project management experience, which should include 5 years' experience in managing healthcare facilities projects. You must also be currently registered in Texas as an architect or engineer. Excellent communication, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills are essential to success.

Director, Facilities Management

We have been retained by an Oklahoma health system to recruit a Director, Facilities Management for their flagship hospital. Our client is a faith based not-for-profit health system and is strong financially. The Director, Facilities Management reports to the Vice President, Support Services and will have responsibility for the construction and maintenance functions through twenty-eight FTEs, which include a manager and supervisor in both construction and maintenance.

The Director, Facilities Management will be responsible for JCAHO readiness, preventative maintenance and planned construction projects to include ICU, ED, parking lot, and a new bed tower. There are no “fires to put out,” but it is expected that the new Director will bring credible leadership and operational depth to the department.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a hospital engineering and facilities role with responsibilities for JCAHO and compliance with environment of care standards. Previous management experience is expected.

Director, Engineering Services

We currently have an excellent opportunity available for a proven leader to take responsibility for the overall direction and management, budget, staff, and programs for the Engineering Services Department of our multi-site campus. Vice President, Facilities

Summary:
Direct, Oversee and coordinate functions and activities of all Facilities Departments.   • Responsible for the Biomedical function to maintain safe and efficient operation of all medical and clinical equipment.
  • Oversee preparation of budgets, capital and operating, for all departments.
  • Attend meeting of professional, civic, and services organizations as a representative of the hospital.
  • May assume other administrative duties in absence of President for planning, directing and coordinating hospital activities.
  • Promote and follow hospital policies, rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture. Masters Preferred.
  • 7-10 years progressively responsible experience. Strong Hospital Engineering experience and good accounting background.
